Work from Home Jobs
Seeking for a data entry job at home? You are not alone. In today's modern world where we are increasingly connected online, work from home opportunities are getting popular among stay-at-home mums or retirees. The lure of benefits such as working in the comfort of your home and flexible working hours have caused such work to be very competitive. To make matters worse, over 90% of the jobs online are scams. So how do we distinguish the genuine from the fake? Here are some tips to help you detect illegitimate sites.
#1: Use popular search engines to check out for scams
Suppose you come across a data entry site called " ABC.com". To find out if its a scam, simple type "ABC.com scam" in a popular search engine such as Google, Yahoo or Msn. Search through any reviews of that particular website. If people who tried it out have warned others about it being a scam, it probably is. You may try varying the term (for example "ABC scam") to leave no stones unturned. This simple technique is not limited to data entry jobs; one can use to check the credibility of paid surveys, emails and other programs as well.
#2: Educate yourself on common work-from-home scams
Envelope Stuffing, chain letters and pyramid schemes are a definite no-no. Steer clear away from them. They are illegal in nature, with some even subtly wanting you to break the law. Paying fines definitely never helps your income grow.
#3: When all else fails, if its too good to be true, then it probably is.
Remember the time I told you to hold that alarm bell in your head in the paid programs section? Now it's the time to use it to protect yourself. If you see an advertisement claiming to pay you $1000 per week, forget about it. It is most likely a scam. I'll rather you stick to your 9 to 5 job then to invest your life savings in such job, only to be duped. Ok, maybe I am being too extreme, but you get the point. When it's simply not worth it, it isnt.
